An important part of the selection process for your new basement sump pump system will be the actual dimensions of the sump chamber. Why does size matter?
The smaller the size of the sump chamber, the less excavation work is required- less effort & less waste spoilage (less cost?)
Provided the comparison has consistency with the pump to be used, then the chamber size is important because it becomes the main technical variable.
If your application requires one mains electrical pump only, you have all three choices of chamber size to select from. But, again, refer to the image for a simple comparison.
All three chamber sizes are suitable for housing one main pump plus an ultrasump battery backup pump either from the start or to easily allow for a battery backup system upgrade if required in the future.
If there is a possibility that the system may benefit from an upgrade with a second pump and/or battery backup, then the best initial choice may be the Super-Flexi because this chamber is designed to hold two mains pumps (TwinSafe) or two mains pumps plus a battery backup (TripleSafe).
Suppose initial cost is an important consideration, then why not select the Zoeller Z150 unit, which you can upgrade with a pump stand, high water alarm, or both. Don’t forget that the battery backup system also works with the Z150 unit.
If there is a strong preference for the pumped water discharge pipework disguised from view by having a side exit, choose the SuperSump or Zoeller Z150 with a solid lid. Otherwise, all three chambers allow for vertical discharge pipework.
