Established in 1898 the distillery experienced many closures and changes of ownership prior to 1993 when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail rescued it. After being extensively re-equipped, Benromach was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.Benromachs Organic malt was initially launched in 2006 as the world’s first bottled Single Malt to be fully certified as organic. They use the finest organic ingedients and every step of its making is certified organic too.åÊ=== Tasting notesNose – Very sweet and malty initially, with vanilla, toffee and banana influences.Palate – Slightly peppery and creamy with defined sweet fruit flavours.Finish – Long, smooth and mellow, there is an exotic carnival feel with some gorgeous chilli spice and tropical fruit flavours, balanced with a creaminess and a dark chocolate edge.
