Brazilian slate is renowned for its strict quality controls and smooth consistency, available in both Green and Grey they fit a vast array of different styles of roofs at a very economic price, here at premium slates we have made the decision to only sell the thicker 7-9mm “heavy” slates due to there thinner versions distinctive brittleness. Using the thicker slates prevents any risk of premature breakages and when laid correctly will outlast the building they are on.

Brazilian slate (Brazil) Brazilian slate is formed Slightly differently from normal slate, it is formed using mudstone instead of traditional clay, the method of metamorphic compression is the same. The results produce a reliable good quality slate which is available in both Graphite grey and greyed green, we only supply the thicker 7-9mm slate due to its inherited brittleness, surface texture tends to be smooth & flat.
