The Chelsea is made in family run workshops using a solid hardwood beech frame, built with joints that have been screwed, glued and dowelled for maximum strength and durability. The seating is fully sprung with double tempered anti-sag springs which are all supported and linked together to create a suspension system which gives greater durability. The back springs are also linked together in the same way for extra comfort. The Chelsea has traditional deep buttoning, fastened to the frame to give, and retain, shape and tension. 3 seat with 125cm wide sofa bed action. Upholstered in Old English Chestnut – an aniline finished leather, tanned to ensure a pleasing distressed or aged finish from new. Extra fat liquors are applied during tanning, to give the leather a slightly waxy feel. These leathers are designed to allow the natural marking variations of the leather to show through to the finish coat. Pull-up leathers do not have a consistent colour density across the whole hide. They are designed to change colour and sheen when pulled or stretched, and designed to allow furniture to age and relax through use and over time. With duck feather filled seat cushions for traditional look and comfort.
