£7,950.00

Tourmaline and diamond ring, circa 1900 . Tourmalines come in perhaps the widest variety of colour of all gemstones, including various shades of pink, from light delicate floral shades to deeply saturated purplish pinks caused by manganese, known as rubellite. This tourmaline, at the impressive size of 16 carats, not only has excellent clarity but also a truly exceptional shade of dusky, slightly orangey pink, somehow with a slight hint of violet – a very rare and complex colour for tourmaline, quite unlike the usual palette for rubellite and perhaps more usually associated with the finest spinels. Set within a simple millegrained border of antique circular-cut diamonds, this ring presents an opportunity to possess a truly singular gemstone, in a beautiful early 20 th  century mount – an excellent centrepiece for anyone’s jewellery collection.
