The fall badge is designed to alert care staff should the wearer collapse or press the panic call button. It has been applied most successfully to protect those with Epilepsy who live alone or in flats with on-site care staff.
The small falls detector contains a fall detecting component and can be attached to belt or clothing or placed in a pocket during the day for protection against dropping in a seizure. In the evening it is often held in the hand while the user relaxes watching TV etc. If a seizure begins then the user throws it or naturally drops it to raise an alarm.
